Bestest of March '16

Ok, so we are a little late getting out the March playlist. At least it's here. I feel like I say this every time I post something. Anyway, we found some nice little gems in the month. We discovered the excellent track by Cut Copy — who, for all we knew, hadn't done anything to speak of since their first album, or, so we thought. But, we were wrong! Also, we had Negative Gemini's track Body Work. Very early 90's summer vibe here. Nice tropical rhythm, too. Paradis landed on our likes with Balad de Jim. Also Neon Indian and Alison Wonderland remixed by Happy Accidents. Hope you enjoy and please look forward to the best of April coming out at the end of the month!!

Best of February '16

Here is our playlist for the month of February. Sometimes just when you think there is no good music to be found you get suddenly surprised by a whole slue of great tracks. These have been on repeat here at Disco Arcade all month.

We have some new stuff from Fred Falke, Magic Man, Carousel, We Draw A, Kisses, and Roosevelt. It's so great when bands you love come out with new stuff. Then we have some new faces such as Olivier Heim and Brett. We will be following them this year to see what else they have to offer. Hope you all enjoy. Peace!!

We do not own these tracks or artwork nor are we profiting in any way from the use of them. We are music and art fans trying to spread good art to the public. Nothing more, nothing less.

ELEL

Just had to post something about one of our new favorite bands, ELEL. We discovered them but a month or so ago and have been listening to their tracks non-stop. I commented to them that I felt that their new songs were some of the freshest I had heard in a long time and ELEL were kind enough to reply: "@disco-arcade: thanks for the kind words! Plenty more way that came from very soon...stay tuned!" We cannot wait to see what this team has to offer next.

By the way, if you are reading this ELEL, we would love for you guys to come to STL and put on a show! I have a great venue in mind as well. Not sure if you are touring yet but put St. Louis on the list please.

Disclaimer: Disco Arcade does not own these songs or image of One Punch Man. We are not selling anything or buying anything. We are only responsible for what we have said, not how you interpreted it. Thank you!

Reboot!

Hello fans of electronica, dance, chillwave, neo retro, indie disco and great music in general. We just wanted to announce the official reboot of Disco Arcade. We are going to start putting up regular updates featuring our favorite new tracks that will keep you dancing through your day and night. Stay tuned for some awesome tunes. Peace!!!

May and June Picks of the Months

May and June ended up being good months for the music scene. There were a lot of familiar bands that we've had our eye on for a while. Roosevelt put out a great song, Young Empires had a remix by Teen Daze, and Brothertiger released another solid remix. We even favorited a Japanese song that would make for a great anime intro theme. Other new faces were Patrick baker and The Legends who both have great vocals which lend themselves well to remixing. So we'll have to keep our eye on them.

Disco Arcade's Top Picks for April

Sorry we're a little late this month. But hey, it's here at last! And that's all that matters. We've got a few amazing songs this month. "Loner" by Stay Ali is a few years old now but it is still so fresh sounding and I think highly under-appreciated. Silent Gloves did an amazing remix of "Ghosts" by Soviet. Jordan F. put out his first remix of 2015 and it's gold. Very Summer. Maethelfin did a very nice remix of another classic from a few years back by Minitel Rose. Royksopp and Jamie Irrepressible are back too for a slower more mellow track than last month.

Best Indietronica of March 2015

Found some real gems last month. Some of our favorites include We Draw A - Jumbo Love (Venter Remix) as well as Royksopp ft Jamie Irrepressible - I Had This Thing (Joris Voorn Remix). Be sure to check the rest out as well. Peace!

Hard Asphalt and Broken Branches: New Singles from Carl Jurgens

Our good friend Carl Jurgens has been hard at work and his two most recent singles are proof that his work has paid off. Both Broken Branches ft.Øyvind Holm and his latest single Hard Asphalt ft. Nicoline feature Jurgens' signature electronic sound with haunting synth and melancholic lyrics with a driving beat that makes his songs energetic, fun, and highly danceable. The addition of the featured singers is a very nice touch that really takes these songs to the next level of professional quality. It's no wonder Mr. Jurgens is the Number 1 ranked electronic artist in Norway on Reverb Nation. Keep up the good work!

New Balitmore EP

Kamp! is back and sounding better than ever. Their sounds bring back great memories of summers past cruising the town with the windows down. We are really enjoying the new track Baltimore, part of the Baltimore EP. You can find Kamp! on Soundcloud or you can find them on the Kamp! Facebook page. Either way make sure to check them out. Here's hoping they go on an American tour.

Talking to my Radio

Alloapm seems to always put out something completely unique. Talking to my Radio is Alloapm's most recent EP and it's got quite a few gems. They have also recently released their Claska EP as well as Wavepop EP released by Heavy Disco Records. What I really enjoy about Alloapm is their use of chilled out vocals that always work perfect with the glitchy electronic sound. It reminds me of chillwave that's been taken to the next level of danceable and listenable music. I can't wait to hear what Alloapm will release next.

Highly Listenable/Danceable

Slanger did a really good job of creating a really original remix of this Passion Pit song. I've heard a lot of remixes of this song lately and this is by far my favorite. Slanger uses some really sweet vocal effects in it. His instrumental stuff is good too. I hope to hear more from him.

Just Pwn

Oxford (Antoine Rigale) is a relative newcomer to the music scene but I think he already has some of the better tracks out there. This remix is very well done. It's really top-notch music production! Oxford has a lot of promise and I'm sure this won't be the last time his music is featured on Disco Arcade ;)

Music from the Future

I've known about She (Lain Trzaska) for a while now. I really liked his song "Coloris" and his style in general. But just earlier this month, She Music released their third album "Electric Girl" and it reminded me of everything I love about She. The two songs I posted here remind me of JUSTICE mixed with futuristic chiptune. Make sure to check out these songs. SOOOON! (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

New Stuff from Brazil

I found out about this song from Cassette Culture's Facebook page. I really enjoy the vibes. His other stuff is pretty good as well. Césare is a musician that I am keeping my eye on. Apparently he is a former professional soccer player so I have to respect that ;)

Clancy Holds It Down

Clancy is a great electronic artist that consistently puts out good music. I really like Little Dragon's style but sometimes they need a little help. I think Clancy made this song a lot better. Or at least easier to dance to. Hope you enjoy this as much as we did.

Until the Light Takes Us

Cassette Culture has been on the top of our list for awhile. They surprising still seem pretty unknown to most. So show them some love and give this one a lot of plays. It certainly deserves it.

Robotaki meets Van She

Preston Chin -- Robotaki. Master of FL Studio. This is his latest creation and it is excellent. I love the cheesy beginning leading into electronic dance goodness. Keep up the fine work Robotaki. Now I am going to eat shitakes on a pizza.
