Highly Listenable/Danceable

Slanger did a really good job of creating a really original remix of this Passion Pit song. I've heard a lot of remixes of this song lately and this is by far my favorite. Slanger uses some really sweet vocal effects in it. His instrumental stuff is good too. I hope to hear more from him.

Just Pwn

Oxford (Antoine Rigale) is a relative newcomer to the music scene but I think he already has some of the better tracks out there. This remix is very well done. It's really top-notch music production! Oxford has a lot of promise and I'm sure this won't be the last time his music is featured on Disco Arcade ;)

Music from the Future

I've known about She (Lain Trzaska) for a while now. I really liked his song "Coloris" and his style in general. But just earlier this month, She Music released their third album "Electric Girl" and it reminded me of everything I love about She. The two songs I posted here remind me of JUSTICE mixed with futuristic chiptune. Make sure to check out these songs. SOOOON! (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

New Stuff from Brazil

I found out about this song from Cassette Culture's Facebook page. I really enjoy the vibes. His other stuff is pretty good as well. Césare is a musician that I am keeping my eye on. Apparently he is a former professional soccer player so I have to respect that ;)

Clancy Holds It Down

Clancy is a great electronic artist that consistently puts out good music. I really like Little Dragon's style but sometimes they need a little help. I think Clancy made this song a lot better. Or at least easier to dance to. Hope you enjoy this as much as we did.

Until the Light Takes Us

Cassette Culture has been on the top of our list for awhile. They surprising still seem pretty unknown to most. So show them some love and give this one a lot of plays. It certainly deserves it.

Robotaki meets Van She

Preston Chin -- Robotaki. Master of FL Studio. This is his latest creation and it is excellent. I love the cheesy beginning leading into electronic dance goodness. Keep up the fine work Robotaki. Now I am going to eat shitakes on a pizza.

FM x Visitor

FM Attack did a really great job with this remix. I think they chose a song that really complimented their style. It sounds like a modern 80's classic with an electronic dance feel. As always, I'm a sucker for a good vocoder and this song really uses it well. So I think I'll be putting this song on repeat for awhile :)

L'Aquarium

Arnaud L'Aquarium (or DJ L'Aquarium) is a French electronic musician who messaged me recently on SoundCloud. Basically he just wanted to say that he admires my taste in music and he'd like me to check out his stuff. We actually get people messaging us fairly often, but this guy's stuff is really good. Arnaud has some good taste in music as well. He has an online radio station called Aquarium Radio. I found the song "You Know Why" thanks to his radio station.

Faith Remixed

It's nice to see R3SET's style evolving into something really unique. It's amazing how different this song sounds from the original. R3SET really put his own style into this song as well as his vocals. I love the female vocals in this track too.

Chill From Switzerland

Flashworx is worxing on some new stuff and I thought this would be the perfect time to promote their upcoming releases. The dudes from Flashworx were kind enough to answer my email interview questions despite being so busy.

Disco Arcade: You said on your soundcloud profile that you describe your music as "melodic nu italo". Where do you get inspiration for your music?
Flashworx: We get the inspiration of 80's soundtrack music, advertising. But we don't try to be really authentic, in a way to reproduce the same sound. We want to have more of our own sound and be free to innovate every time and to try new things with our music.
DA: Do you think that the internet will boost your popularity as it makes your music more and more accessible?
FW: Thanks to internet we can share our music faster than ever but the coolest thing is that you can communicate with other musicians from all over the world and make nice connections, for example with Jordan F, and many others (that I'll not mention here in case I forget someone)
DA: How do you think that internet-based music promotion (such as music blogs and sites like SoundCloud) will shape the future of the music industry?
FW: I think that the future is "listen free, pay if you support". many artists are leaving labels and selling their music with Bandcamp, Vibedeck and others website on their own. With those websites you can know your real fan base and be in contact with them and know what they'd like more of in your music. I think the relation between the artist and the fan is really important nowadays!
DA: Where did the name for the album "Two Guys in Japan" come from?
FW: We went to Japan, and we've been "traumatized", that's our tribute to those emotions!
DA: What are a few artists that you guys listen to?
FW: We're big fans of Chromeo, we listen very different kinds of music... but we really underestimate Neon Workout music, he really deserves more credit!
DA: You mentioned working on some new projects. What should we expect from you guys?
FW: We will release our 1st album after the summer! Some gigs are also planned. Anthony is working on a new project called "MIRANA" with a newcomer singer, it's a band project with 3 demos already avalaible, an album also for the next year!

Here are a couple sweet tracks from Flashworx and Anthony Hammer's side project, "MIRANA". Hope you enjoy!

You'll Be Dancin' Mon

I totally forgot about Van She. These guys can sing and pwn the keys at the same time. They make some great music that will be remixed a million times (you know it). Congrats to Van She for a great song that will go down into the electronic music record books.

First Album Art

I (Tyler) just finished creating an album cover for a really great artist that I've been keeping in contact with. Western Walk is a Toronto-based musician that is really influenced by a lot of artists I like such as Com Truise and Washed Out. I love his style and it's an honor that he let me create his album art. I am really happy with how it turned out and Tobi Soetan (Western Walk) liked it too. So it was a good experience and awesome to see both of us coming out with cool stuff. Check out Western Walk's Bandcamp page for a free download link (and my credit at the bottom of the page).

Brand Spanking New Carl Jurgens

Last I had heard our friend Carl Jurgens was working on video game music. We are so glad to hear that Carl has moved back into the realm of making sweet electronic tracks. This is some truly good quality Norwegian music here. I am glad someone is holding it down in Scandinavia. I was getting a little worried there. I think this sounds like a WAAAAYYYY cooler version of Nightcall by Kavinky. I love these lyrics and I am going to be singing "You won't know my secret til I tell you. You won't see the picture til I show you." Good Shit Carl!!!

Back From The Dead

I thought about posting this song a long time ago. But first it got taken down from Soundcloud and then I forgot about it. SO I'm bringing this song back from the dead. Along with posting with a Youtube link. I'm bringing that back from the dead too :) Art by Bruno 9Li

GOLDEN

Just found this song today. Probably cause it's only been out for a day. I think TEEEL is proving himself to be a great musician. I read an article about how he plays all kinds of instruments in a teal colored room. (Hence the name.) But whatever he's doing, I think he needs to keep it up. Cause this stuff is awesome!

Don't Stop, Oliver

I did not expect Oliver to create a remix like this. It reminds me of something Justice would make if they were still good. So I guess that makes Oliver the new Justice (for the moment). Loved their remix of Roman by Housse de Racket and now this. Obviously they know how to remix :) Good job Oliver!

Limited Impressions

I have to say thanks again to FutureCityRecords for turning me on to Limited Impressions. I really like the cover of Toro Y Moi because I'm so familiar with the original. It's a refreshing new take. Also "Your Name" has some great vocoder action going on. It edges on the more futuristic, electronic side of Chillwave which I love :D Hope you love it too!

Oxford's New Sound

Here is a sweet new track from Oxford. I feel like we are getting that same awesome funky Oxford sound with a new twist on it. Hope to here some more of this in the future. We also featured some more art by our favorite Swede Killian Eng. Enjoy friends.

Koobra

Koobra hails from Helsinki, Finland. He produces some pretty funky tracks if you are looking for some Disco. This is a track that came out about a year ago. A remix of an Uusi Fantasia featuring Eirik Bøe (Erland Øye's mate from Kings of Convenience). Anyhoot, sorry it has been so long since we have posted. We are getting the pipeline loaded up again though so worry not faithful Disco Arcade junkies!

Some FutureCityRecord Tunes

I listened to Future City Record's Synthecide Volume. 1 Mixtape a while back and really enjoyed these songs in particular. I am definitely going to be checking up on their next mixtape if it's as good as the first.

The New Peter Gabriel and Some New Peter Gabriel

First of all the New HTML 5 players that Soundcloud.com has put out freakin' rock. Secondly we are kicking off the month of March with a double posting. Is it just me or does RUFUS sound a lot like Peter Gabriel? They are dropping an EP this April and it should be great. And once again our good friend 5tarcrush dropped another extremely produced remix of Peter Gabriel's Games Without Frontiers (Jeux sans frontiers.) Hope everyone out there gets to jamming these sweet tracks.

Bermuda In The Night

Bermuda by Kisses

Matt Kivel is the vocalist for Princeton and Kisses. This guy has some of the best vocals out there. Great for remixing. And I love a song that makes me wanna get out of the country. Think I'm gonna travel to Bermuda now. ~_~

Cosmic Dancing to the Cosmic Kids

I found these tracks the other day and got to jam them for some people at work. They loved it! I am loving the tropical/Geico Caveman feel of the Track from Princeton. Definitely the New Erland Oye. I also dig this one by Holy Ghost! and that is good because I usually could go without them :)

Body Work

I often wonder if artists realize they sound better remixed. Tegan & Sara got the message and worked with an artist that made them sound wonderful! No need to remix this one.

WHITEARROWS

This song has an interesting style that I am sure has a name but I do not know what to call it. Oh wait it does have a name it's called "Tropical Gospel". I just know I like it. Plus RAC (the Remix Artist Collective) just favorited it and if RAC likes it, then goddammit like it. Peace .> ^ <.

Flashworx...

MPM aka Multipac - Summer of 84 (Flashworx remix) by Flashworx

Visitor - Lost feeling (Flashworx remix) by Flashworx

Lazercat - Nuit Blanche (Flashworx Remix) by Flashworx

This is some great music by a great Swiss electronic artist, Flashworx. Most of their remixes are available for free to download on Soundcloud which is always nice. Make sure to show them some support by checking out their other songs.

Clancy

Kisses 'Midnight Lover' (Clancy Remix) by Clancymusic

Delphic 'Halcyon' (CLANCY Remix) by Clancymusic

Clancy - Panther by Clancymusic

Clancy really got busy on these songs. It's no surprise that he has worked alongside Build. Both of which are really talented artists from the UK. Speaking of talented artists, the photo in this post was created by Swedish artist, Kilian Eng. Check him out, too!

Let's Make This Happen

Two Door Cinema Club - Something Good Can Work (RAC Mix) by RAC

Great work is now just a given when it comes to RAC. I just decided to check out their page and it is pretty sweet. http://rac.fm/who. I am moving to the beautiful country of Costa Rica tomorrow and need this music to keep me happy on my 24 airport experience. You can still expect great music from us!!!

Nightdrive With Anoraak

Anoraak - Nightdrive With You (Fear Of Tigers Remix) by Lucky Boy

Anoraak - Nightdrive With You (Minitel Rose mix)

These are some great beats remixed by some great artists. Although I have to give this one to Minitel Rose for keeping the French feel to this song alive and making the vocals stand out more. Perfect music for taking a night drive ;)

Amulet Reincarnated

TEEEL - Corduroy Swells (Datassette Remix)

TEEEL - Triangle Waves (Slow Hands Remix)

Teeel album Amulet was excellent and now we can enjoy it one more time in remix form. Here are a couple samplings that we thought really stood out but you should definitely hop over to Teeel's Soundcloud and listen to the whole thing. Nice job to all of the artists that contributed.
